Work It

Well today was pretty fun - as fun as work can get anyway. It started out with some regular trusses (nothing too big...like 20-25 footers), but then we spent the last half of the day building this big-ass attic trusses that had spans of over 50 feet (not even Paris could handle something that big.....although today was HOT).

There was this one particular truss we were flipping...if you can call it flipping that is - when it was coming down there was some miscommunication and the thing practically fell apart. What made it even funnier (cuz i did find it pretty funny that all those staples and plates acocunted for nothing - yet this is supposed to support a roof of a house) was that the production supervisor, Steve, wanted us to try and do a reverse flip (self-explanatory)...but because it was falling apart people had to handle it like it was combustible.

Last break. I went and got a Pepsi...cuz Coke suckzzzzzz. When i was walking into one of the shed where we build trusses, i burped pretty loudly. So i said, "Excuse me...that was my mating call - it wasn't meant for you." and my friend McKay said, "Don't be so sure..."

I gave him such a look - and asked if it meant anything to him. He laughed and said he saw Patrick flinch when i burped......sure McKay. We act like such dorks at work - even more so while we're working.

Hopefully i'll get to go repelling again this saturday, if whoever is supposed to go with McKay don't chicken out (or he doesn't have to milk some goats/cows/blind dates/whatever).
